We don’t use the common luxury vans and opted for a vintage Land Rover Defender so you can come along on memorable expeditions, aboard one of the most stunning, classy, and photogenic off-roaders ever built.

The ride won’t be as smooth or comfortable, but you can be sure it will be the most fun being able to cross paths no other tourists can reach. Your tour guide will take you on a mixture of off-road tracks and coastal trails with activities, delicious restaurants and wineries, majestic monuments, beautiful beaches, magnificent secret spots, and much more for you to discover.

This is done while sharing curiosities, fun facts, stories, and historical information. On some parts of the tour, you will also have time to explore solo. On our tours page, you will find more information about the unique offers we have for each destination.

Our tours are always private. We feel it’s the best way to make each experience more personal and tailor-made for our customers. Our Land Rover Defender has the capacity of 5 available seats for passengers.

This means it will only be you and your family or friends aboard one of the most iconic off-roaders ever built exploring Portugal on memorable expeditions.

The information about extra costs is present on each tour page. Lunch is not included however we only recommend restaurants that we consider the best experience for our customers in quality and price-wise.

In case you prefer to bring your food it’s completely fine. Entry fees to palaces and monuments are described on each tour page if applicable.

When a tour is marked as “unavailable” it may be due to that date being already booked or unavailable. However, feel free to contact us to see if we can sort a solution to fulfil your needs.

Cool Explorers Portugal has no liability for the loss, theft, or damage of the personal belongings of our customers. Due to the type of vehicle used we have no safe space to store your belongings.

We kindly ask you to bring a backpack or bag to remain with you during the tour and when not in the car. It’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure that personal belongings are secure at all times.

Besides providing you an amazing tour experience in Portugal with breathtaking views and places, we also have multiple commodities for your comfort.

Our Land Rover Defender is equipped with incredible-sounding Marshall wireless speakers, Bluetooth, 220V power outlets to charge your smartphones and cameras, on-board wi-fi internet, umbrellas, beach towels, comfy blankets, water, and small snacks.

There will be other surprises but those you will discover while onboard our amazing beach runner.

Portugal is a very sunny country. With an average of 3000 hours of sunshine a year and pleasant temperatures even in winter we can say that most likely you will have amazing weather during your holidays in Portugal.

On Summer days we will travel by our Land Rover Defender in safari mode with the soft top partially opened and the Marshall Sound System playing great tunes. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses to better enjoy the experience.

Even in summer at the end of the day, the weather can change quickly and it’s usually a few degrees cooler. We recommend bringing a jacket or sweater.

On winter and colder days, we keep the soft top closed for your comfort. We have comfy blankets and your experience will be as exciting as on a summer day. With a huge advantage, we will most likely find mud on our off-road paths.

Yes. Considering the type of vehicle our adventures are not recommended for pregnant women or travellers with back problems.

Children under 12 years old and/or height less than 135cm are not allowed due to the type of vehicle we are using.

Due to the accessibility of the Land Rover Defender people with mobility problems are not recommended to take our experience.

If you feel a medical condition may affect your trip in any way, please let us know when purchasing your tour.

Cool Explorers Portugal reserves the right to decline bookings if we feel we are not able to accommodate your condition on any given tour.

We love all kinds of pets! And we would love that you could bring them with you. However, due to the type of activities and legal restrictions you cannot bring any animals with you.

Such a cool 4×4 like this one should be shared with everyone. Thinking of you, we decided to rent the Defender for photoshoots and in this case, we can also hire a professional photographer, make-up, and styling if you want.

Another available option is renting the Defender for weddings and marriage proposals. Regarding the marriage proposal, we can work with you to create an unforgettable experience that will surpass all expectations.
